Porcelain Crowns and Veneers
Both crowns and the dental veneers are excellent means used by dentists to achieve attractive smiles. However, there are several differences between the two. At Ceprosi Dental we count with the specialty of prosthodontics with the help of highly trained and experienced dentists in Guatemala.
When a tooth is highly damaged and is no longer possible to restore it with normal fillings (resins or amalgams), it is necessary to place a crown to restore and definitively protect the tooth.
It is often necessary to carry out root canal treatments on these pieces because the nerves are usually damaged by the destruction that the tooth suffered. In the absence of dental pieces, on the one hand, several crowns can be joined in the shape of bridges in order to replace the lost pieces, with a simple procedure and aesthetical result.
On the other hand, veneers are often used specifically for aesthetic purposes and for pieces with low amount of damage. Porcelain veneers manage to project white and natural smiles like those of some famous artists. They are made out of fine porcelain or zirconium laminates that adhere to the worn outer surface of the teeth by means of very strong dental glue. This is how, with the help of these veneers, in a very superficial and non-invasive way, the aesthetics, size, color and position of the teeth can be improved, achieving spectacular cosmetic results.
